The .eus domain was launched at the end of 2014 by the PuntuEus Foundation, which belongs to the PuntuEus Association, with the aim of creating a domain representing the Basque Cultural and Linguistic Community.
With more than 14,000 .eus domains registered, it is the second most successful extension of this type in Spain (.cat has +100,000 registered domains), followed closely by .gal.
As with other similar domains, .eus domains have requirements to be registered, websites must have Basque content or the content of the website must speak about Basque culture.
